About the Artist
The paintings of Fiona Hoop are collaborative works, which combine the talent and experience of two professional artists, Michele Woodey and Mary Kennedy.
Michele Woodey attended Brighton School of Arts in England, graduating with honors. She furthered her education while she worked as an antique and art restorer in London. She studied English, taught English as a second language, printmaking, and photography. Michele has held solo exhibits of her work in the prestigious Nexus Gallery in Brighton, England, at Erindale College within the University of Toronto, and multiple showings at the Leo Kamen Gallery in Toronto. Michele lives in Canada.
Mary Kennedy attended the Ontario College of Art and Design. She received OCAD's Experimental Arts Award in Painting. Since then, she has been the recipient of several Visual Arts Grants from the Ontario Arts Council, as well as the Sheila Dick Mackay Arts Foundation. The artistic talent of Mary Kennedy has been validated, for she has had the success of out completed works on paper and canvas within a few days of an opening. Mary's work may be found in corporate collections at the University of Toronto, Princess Margaret Hospital, and international collections such as Husky Systems and Voorheis.
